Blood Rage Core Box monsters

This Blood Rage commission painting project features all four monsters from the core game, each painted at our highest Level 4 quality. In Blood Rage, these towering creatures are far more than battlefield reinforcements. They are legendary beings drawn from Norse mythology, capable of turning the tide of battle and becoming the centerpiece of any clan’s army. Our goal was to give every monster its own distinct identity while maintaining a cohesive style across the collection through bold contrasts, vibrant colors, and carefully placed highlights that immediately draw the eye.

Rather than following a muted, realistic palette, the client requested bright, high-contrast colors that would make each creature stand out individually on the tabletop. Combined with crisp detail work, expressive textures, and scenic bases tailored to each miniature, the result is a collection that feels mythical, and it’s perfectly suited to the dramatic clashes of the world on the brink of Ragnarök.

  • The Fire Giant stands out with rich NMM gold armor, accented by glowing green gemstones embedded across his form. His sword blazes in a vivid emerald green, giving the illusion of fiery magic and raw power radiating from his weapon.

  • The Frost Giant captures the icy chill of the north with cool blue-white skin tones and carefully painted snow and icicle effects on the boulder he hoists overhead. The transitions and texture work emphasize the frigid atmosphere of the miniature.
  • The Troll showcases ornate NMM gold jewelry and gemstone-inlaid details across his hammer and adornments. These touches give the model an ancient, treasure-laden feel that contrasts well with his brutish physique and rugged textures.
  • The Sea Serpent is a centerpiece in its own right, painted in a mesmerizing iridescent palette that shifts between hues, mimicking the scales of a deep-sea predator. This shimmering finish adds movement and mystery, enhancing its aquatic menace.
