“The Fallen can run. They cannot hide.”

Sammael is one of the most iconic characters in the Dark Angels range, making him a fantastic centerpiece for any Ravenwing force. For this Level 3 commission, we aimed to create a beautiful display piece.

Corvex, his jetbike was painted in the classic Dark Angels color scheme, featuring deep black armor with silver trim and vibrant red and green accent colors. The large white wings were shaded with soft blue tones to create an angelic appearance, adding visual interest while preserving the clean white finish.

Sammael’s robes were painted using a warm cream palette, beginning with Zandri Dust, shaded with Agrax Earthshade, and highlighted with Ushabti Bone for natural depth and contrast. His power sword features a vibrant blue energy effect, smoothly blended by airbrush from deep blue into bright white, with crisp edge highlights that make it stand out as the focal point of the miniature.

The base represents an arid battlefield, finished with sandy textures, scattered stones, and dried grass tufts that complement the miniature without distracting from it. The result is a clean, elegant Level 3 character that captures the noble appearance of the Dark Angels while remaining perfectly suited for tabletop play.
